Syria Project
In 2023, our focus was on providing critical relief following the devastating earthquake in Türkiye. We fundraised over £240k to support affected communities, setting up camps for the homeless, medical camps, food banks, and soup kitchens.
Karim Home, is an orphanage housing Syrian children and we help them cover operational costs, including rent, utilities, food, and clothing for the orphanage children. We have visited the home regularly since beginning work with them in 2022, and we carry out fundraising activities and directly engage with refugees living in the surrounding area
In Hatay, an area rich in Syrian refugees, we had two cancer centres to help house and pay for treatments for those suffering. One cancer centre was destroyed in the 2023 earthquakes, we secured a second building for 12 months to continue providing essential care, particularly for Syrian refugee patients. Through cash donations, food, and clothing distributions, we enabled our donors to fulfil their Zakat obligations. Additionally, we carried out Qurbani for Eid ul-Adha and distributed Zakat for Eid ul-Fitr.
